Now that’s a startup! Today we bring you a video we found on TikTok from the account gandytiktokhangar and it’s a doozy. There’s nothing like a good ‘ol Corsair startup but even better when it’s this close!
Arguably the best WWII plane, at least in the Pacific Theatre, the F4U Corsair is a Warbird Fanatic favorite and it’s always a treat to be able to see and hear one startup and take off and thanks to the internet, we get to see that often. It was a carrier-based aircraft and became one of the most iconic of the entire war.
It’s just a plane that sounds so beastly with its radial Pratt and Whitney engine. There is literally nothing like it!

It quickly became one of the most capable carrier-based fighter-bombers of World War II. Some Japanese pilots regarded it as the most formidable American fighter of World War II and its naval aviators achieved an 11:1 kill ratio.
