What an Aircraft!
Ever wondered what it would be like inside the cockpit of a B-17? In this video, Military Aviation History walks us through one of the five B-17s that are still actively flying today- the B-17G Flying Fortress “Sentimental Journey.” It walks viewers through the aircraft’s amazing features and even gives us a peak of what it’s been like for bomber crews in this pivotal time in history.
The plane is restored to its 1944 configuration and is being operated as a flying museum, allowing people to see and experience aviation history that spans over 60 years. What can we say? The B-17 is a very beautiful plane- it looks absolutely gorgeous! The walkaround is pretty awesome, especially the freeze-frame explanations.
