It has been a long time since Florence “Shutsy” Reynolds has flown in a P-51 Mustang. She one of the 1,074 members Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) who flew military aircraft for the United States during WWII. At the AirVenture Airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin Shutsy was given the opportunity of a lifetime to be reunited with a P-51 Mustang and soar the skies again.
The Freedom Flyers are a wonderful organization that gives WWII veterans the chance to fly in warbirds once again. Shutsy couldn’t contain her excitement when they offered the chance to fly in the legendary P-51 Mustang Pecos Bill.

The P-51 Pecos Bill never saw combat but it sure makes a lasting mark by flying the veterans who did. Shutsy Reyolds has spent her life as an activist for female pilots and has become a decorated veteran. It is so absolutely heartwarming to see her fly again in this video and proves that her love for aviation still lives on.
