The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is arguably one of the best Cold War jet fighters, making it one of the most fearsome multi-role aircraft. It can fly at Mach 2.2, and deliver a whooping 18000lbs of ordnance on its enemies.
In this video, we get to see the F4 Phantom doing a high-speed pass at the Ft. Lauderdale Air Show. This was taken in 2001.
We can’t help but admire the performance of the F4 given that they’re heavy birds, meaning it does carry a lot of energy during that ascent. We can only imagine feeling that rush! And the sound of the engines is simply incredible, there’s nothing quite like it.
